Ear Infections

Approximately seventy-five percent of children experience at least one episode of otitis media (ear infection) by their third birthday. Almost half of these children have 3 or more incidences of otitis media by the age of 3. Hearing loss as a result of otitis media is usually temporary however both untreated and chronic otitis media can reduce a child’s hearing during their most critical stages of speech and language development.
